On X, @Isichan_Hitori posted a comparison of the DGX Spark models from different makers. The creator writes (in Japanese) that the basic performance is nearly the same across them, and that the differences are mainly SSD capacity, cooling, bundled software, warranty and, above all, price 1 2. The creator also writes that anyone running a local LLM for personal use seems likely to end up choosing mainly on price and warranty 3.

Let's try the same exercise with laptops built on RTX Spark. This is not a claim that DGX Spark and RTX Spark perform alike. What we want to see is how models built on a related NVIDIA chip split apart on shape, memory choices, price and arrival date. All prices are US dollar prices, and availability can change.
The same N1X inside
The laptops here all carry the RTX Spark N1X. According to NVIDIA, there is a configuration with a 20-core CPU and a GPU with 6,144 CUDA cores 4 5, and memory goes up to 128GB of unified memory 6. NVIDIA's documentation puts the memory bandwidth at 300 GB/s 7.
There is also a configuration with an 18-core CPU and a 5,120-core GPU 8. The Surface Laptop Ultra, for example, offers both 8, while the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box uses the 20-core configuration 9.
What differs: shape, memory choices, price and arrival date
With a shared core, the clues for choosing sit on the outside: screen size, weight, whether the pen works, which memory sizes are offered, the US price, and availability.
Screens run from a 14-inch model 10 to 16-inch models 11. Among the models with a listed weight, the lightest figure is the ASUS ProArt P14 (H7407) at 1.48 kg 12. Some models start in the US at $2,599.99 13, others at $3,799.99 14. As for arrival, some are already on sale and some are waiting for a November release or shipment 15.
The models, one by one
Surface Laptop Ultra
It has a 15-inch mini-LED touchscreen 16 and weighs 2.0 kg 17. Memory options run from 24GB up to 128GB 18. In Microsoft's US store it starts at $2,599.99 19, and the 128GB, 1TB configuration is $5,899.99 20.
ASUS ProArt P16 (H7607)
A 16-inch OLED 11 21, it weighs 1.77 kg and, according to ASUS, is 12.9 mm thin 22 23. Memory goes up to 128GB 24. The US price starts at $2,799.99 25, and according to ASUS it can already be bought in the US 26.
ASUS ProArt P14 (H7407)
This is the 14-inch model 27, weighing 1.48 kg and, according to ASUS, 13.9 mm thin 12 28. It supports touch and a stylus 29. Memory goes up to 128GB 30, and the US price starts at $2,599.99 13. It too can be bought in the US now 31.
Dell XPS 16 Creator Edition
A 16-inch laptop with a 3.2K Tandem OLED display 32 33, 17.8 mm thick 34. According to press coverage, it weighs 2.02 kg to start and has a 99Wh battery 35 36, with memory in 32GB, 64GB or 128GB 37. According to Dell, the Best Buy pre-order starts at $3,799.99 14. StorageReview writes that this is the entry configuration with 32GB and a 512GB SSD, listed for an October 16 release 38 39.
HP OmniBook Ultra 16
A 16-inch 3K OLED 40 41 with a rear height of 15.73 mm, the measure HP uses for slimness 42, and memory up to 128GB 43. The US price starts at $3,199.99 44. HP said it was expected to be available at HP.com on October 16 45, and it is named in NVIDIA's launch release 46, but Windows Central reports that US shipments are expected to begin on November 4 47.
HP OmniBook X 14
A 14-inch OLED model 10 48, with a rear height of 13.53 mm 49. The US price starts at $2,999.99 50. HP said it was expected to be available at HP.com on October 16 51, but Windows Central reports that shipments are expected to begin on November 4 52.
MSI Prestige N16 Flip AI+
MSI's announcement lists a 16-inch UHD+ Tandem OLED display, the MSI NANO PEN and a flip form factor 53. According to ThePCEnthusiast, the 3840 x 2400 Tandem OLED comes with the top 128GB configuration 54. The battery is 99.9Wh 55. Retailer Newegg lists the US configuration with 32GB and 1TB (with a 2.8K OLED screen) as a $3,299 pre-order, with a release date of November 6 56 57.
Lenovo Yoga Pro 9n (15″, 11)
A 15.3-inch OLED 58 weighing from 1.65 kg 59. Memory goes up to 128GB 60, and the haptic touchpad supports a pen 61. According to press coverage, the US price starts at $2,999.99 62. It is also named in NVIDIA's launch release 63.
Lenovo Yoga 9n 2-in-1 (16″, 11)
A 16-inch model 64 you can write on directly with a pen 65. It weighs 1.94 kg and is 17.5 mm thick 66 67, with a 99.9Wh battery and up to 2TB of SSD 68 69. According to press coverage, US pre-orders opened from $2,999.99 for the 18-core, 32GB, 512GB configuration 70. StorageReview puts Best Buy's 18-core, 32GB, 1TB configuration at $3,099.99 71.
If you order now, when does it arrive?
On October 16, NVIDIA announced that the laptops were available 72. Microsoft's US store gives the Surface Laptop Ultra an October 16 release date 73, and ASUS announced the same day that the ProArt laptops could be bought in the US 26.
HP itself expected its laptops to be available on October 16 45 51, but Windows Central reports that they are expected to begin shipping on November 4 47 52. For MSI's flip model, Newegg's pre-order shows a November 6 date 57. The Lenovo Yoga 9n 2-in-1 (16″, 11) was reported to be taking pre-orders at Best Buy 74.
The developer-oriented Surface RTX Spark Dev Box has up to 128GB of memory 75 and starts at $5,999.99 in the US 76. It is open for pre-order, with a US release date of November 25 15.
The compact desktops are announced but not yet on sale. NVIDIA's blog says, "Compact desktops will be available for sale in November." 77
